Description+
A low dome of walnut, shaped like a stone picked up on a riverbank.
In Japan, suiseki are stones collected and displayed for their shape alone, a practice kept up for centuries. This holder follows the same idea in solid walnut, smoothed all round, with a tealight set into the top.
One on a bedside table is enough. Two or three together on a low table look like a small arrangement of stones, lit.

Care+
Wood Cleaning & Dusting
Wipe weekly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a barely damp cloth — wring it fully so it feels almost dry. Wipe with the grain, never across it, then dry immediately. Avoid all chemical cleaners, sprays, alcohol, or bleach.
Wood Oiling & Conditioning
Re-oil with pure tung oil or natural beeswax paste once a year (twice in very dry climates or air-conditioned rooms). Apply sparingly with a lint-free cloth, leave 30 minutes, then buff off excess. Do not oil over lacquered or varnished finishes.
Sunlight & Heat Protection
Avoid prolonged direct sunlight — UV rays fade and dry out wood over time. Keep away from direct heating vents, radiators, and fireplaces. Sudden temperature changes cause cracking; gradual seasonal movement is normal and harmless.
Candle Holder Safety
Never leave a lit candle unattended. Place on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Keep away from draughts, curtains, and flammable materials. Trim wick to 5mm before each use. Do not allow candle to burn to the base — extinguish when 1cm of wax remains.
