Description+
Three tealight holders in three heights, standing like pieces on a board.
Their waisted profile belongs to the chess set, which took its classic form in London in 1849 with the Staunton pattern, still the one used at every tournament. These are carved from solid wood by hand, each with a wide foot, a narrow waist and a cup at the top.
Arranged tallest to shortest on a sideboard or a windowsill, they read as a single piece, and the three flames step down in a line.

Care+
Wood Cleaning & Dusting
Wipe weekly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a barely damp cloth — wring it fully so it feels almost dry. Wipe with the grain, never across it, then dry immediately. Avoid all chemical cleaners, sprays, alcohol, or bleach.
Sunlight & Heat Protection
Avoid prolonged direct sunlight — UV rays fade and dry out wood over time. Keep away from direct heating vents, radiators, and fireplaces. Sudden temperature changes cause cracking; gradual seasonal movement is normal and harmless.
Candle Holder Safety
Never leave a lit candle unattended. Place on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Keep away from draughts, curtains, and flammable materials. Trim wick to 5mm before each use. Do not allow candle to burn to the base — extinguish when 1cm of wax remains.
Candle Holder Cleaning
Remove wax drips by placing the holder in the freezer for 30 minutes — wax contracts and pops off cleanly. For stubborn residue, pour boiling water carefully and let it melt. Wipe the wood exterior with a dry cloth only — avoid soaking the base.
