The Terra plays a quiet trick. It carries the presence of aged ceramic — the rounded body, the ridges, the sea-green wear of something dug up and loved for decades. But there is no clay in it. The whole base is lathe-turned from solid sheesham — Indian rosewood — and every horizontal ridge is cut by hand, one pass at a time, across the turned body.
The colour is where the piece earns its name. A teal patina is built up in layers, then distressed back by hand until it sits like weather rather than paint — and look closely: the grain of the wood still reads through it. Even at its greenest, The Terra never pretends to be pottery; it only borrows the weight. Above and below, the sheesham is left honest — polished to a deep, natural shine, grain in full view, framing the patinated body the way dark earth frames a glazed field.
The light is the calm kind. An off-white linen drum shade sits over the bulb, so evenings get a soft, diffused glow with no glare and no visible filament. The supplied LED steps through three colour temperatures — warm, neutral and cool white — so the same lamp reads for you at night and works beside you in the day. Each piece is turned, ridged and patinated to order in our studio, and arrives numbered and signed beneath the base.
